"Geet's" Remodel Continues - 1977 Front Kitchen

 Worst part of the ceiling plywood removed.  Removal continues.

The new tool hubby bought me slices thru the ceiling layers like butter, making the removal safe for me, and easy to accomplish from the inside out.

 Removed front kitchen upper cupboard to do repairs in & behind.

New bracing struts definitely needed. 

Haven't had to use the snow rake yet as soon as we get some of the white stuff, it starts to melt or the rains return.

(or not - I'm having second thoughts as it is a one of a kind)

While the snow flies... I paint & sew things Scotty Blue...

 If I can't find stuff that is just the right shade of turquoise for Guppy and Geet, I'll find something interesting enough - maybe even with some tin or stainless steel rimming and add a bit of Scotty Blue to make it just right by painting or sewing...

The micro-fibre suede to the left is what the kitchette seating & back gaucho cushions are being covered with... the light turquoise pillows were made by using perfectly squared napkins to offset the darker turquoise micro-fibre suede.  

Can't wait for the next reveal!

New - Vintage - Retro Kitchette Items

Finding all sorts of melamine plates, bowls & stemware for the kitchens & dinettes of both Guppy & Geet.

 Finding the new cutlery & vintage looking retro radio was icing on the cake!

I've even acquired a few extra place settings & cutlery settings incase another vintage camper comes along and needs something in our matching decor colours.

Tucking Geet Away for the Winter

Although we'll be continuing her interior redesign, I've tucked Geet into a safe winter spot (and even bought a heavy duty snow rake to help reduce the accumulation of snow she'll acquire on her roof.

No sanding required - edges smooth enough for painting

 Haven't put the black edge on bottom cupboard yet

I like how the fridge & overhead stove fan turned out

And the little clock radio got a matching face-lift.

My new Scotty coloured cutlery arrived today.
Got enough for 4 place settings for both Guppy and Geet!

 Foam in Cushions in Good Shape - The covers are being removed & replaced.

 The Dinette Table is removable so that will make redesigning the table top easier in the winter months.

 The small fridge to the right has already been removed -  contemplating what to do with the stovetop.

Interesting little empty bathroom space - going to do a full remodel of that location along with storage cupboard to the left - thinking of a small dinette area with a raised bunk for Squid & the Pups.

Introducing the Scotty Girls - 1976 Guppy & 1977 Geet

 Guppy found her way into my life in the spring of 2011

She just needed a little inside 'glamour' (new curtains & coverings, plus a splash of paint here & there)

I spent most of the summer living in her in northern Muskoka, Canada

Along came younger sister "Geet" in the fall of 2011

Apparently she's considered a rare find and unique - she has a Front Kitchen/Back Gaucho - currently sleeps only two, as she was considered the 'retirement camper for two' but that's all about to change, as her front washroom & storage area are slated for a full remodel to allow for a raised single bunk.

The Guppy (13 feet) needed really only to be 'glamped up' while 'Geet' (despite being a year younger - and 14 feet long) needs practically an entire face lift from bottom on up to get her road worthy for their next generation of adventures to the sunny south, the Canadian Prairies and the East Coast Provinces.
