Putting Guppy's Outdoor Kitchen Away

 The last things that get packed up for the fall is the outdoor kitchen shelf unit.

 It has a tin top, removable shelves & fold-able sides

Easy fit & storage inside the Scotty for travel and quick easy set up outdoors.

Coulda, Woulda, Shouda

 Mixed up some pale yellow - I'm ok with this - 

but not married to it by any stretch.

 Here's the front cabinet - the curve is ok, but it's still got

a long way to go to be finished.

 Pulled out the old original drawers that I forgot had gotten the 

"pink treatment" last spring.  That's the last time you'll see that colour.

 Getting these drawers aligned properly was an Advil Induced Exercise

 The top counter lines up well.

 Putting some splash of Aqua Scotty colour on the cabinetry.

Extremely disappointed in the colour of my counter top.  It doesn't look aqua enough now - it's almost a muted blue and I'm not happy with it.

(I did do a good job on putting the holes in the right spot for the faucet though)

Somedays when I work really hard on you and am so disappointed with the end result, I think that parting you out would have been easier, 

less painful, and better for everyone.

Kichen Cabinet Cutout

I'm on my 3rd coat for interior painting of the front end - did I mention that each coat was a different colour? :) I started with the pale pink, moved to yellow, then hated both of them so mixed some ceiling white with the yellow
and waiting to seeing if that is more appealing. 

Instead of sticking around watching paint dry,
I got to work on the new cupboard framing.

 Getting the 1/4 inch plywood to bend took a lot of steaming to loosen the glue to get it to take without splitting. 

A few splinters along the way that I can sand out - no biggy.  If it looks really horrible, I can alway glue my new laminate ontop - in the background is the precut section of laminate for the actual counter top with sink cut out.  Not putting back the stove - going to use one of my little electric ones inside if I need to or my single burner propane one for outside.

Another Colour - Hmmmm...

Thinking this yellow colour might be a bit too intense 

to be confined in for any duration of time..

Wonder what mixing the muted pink with this yellow will result in...stay tuned.

I could always tone down this yellow with some of the primer white. 

Watching Paint Dry

 Final pieces of interior plywood added between

front window and side walls.

Here comes the interior paint colour choices so far...

 First Coat - Muted Pink
(Looks like dirty white)

 Looks slightly more pink against the primer white 

(that isn't a positive for the pink....)

Raining outside so front tin & outside front edging work will have to wait - nothing to do but watch paint dry so might get started peeling back more of the flooring.

Lower Splash Guard Added

 Shaved down the outer support board to compensate for the slight curve of the front tin.  Reused the old bottom tin lip for the underside splashguard  to prevent future water damage reaching the wooden floor supports.

Solid Front End Rebuild

 For a girl I think I do good work.  

No front end rot or leaks expected for another 35 years (if that!)

 Support structure bracing on both sides of plywood at front end as most of this is covered up with the front kitchen lower cabinet and dinette booth seat.

Last piece of plywood around the windows to be put in before the actual hard work begins - deciding what interior paint colour is best suited.  

Got a couple of tins of paint kicking around so my option at the moment are a pale, pale, pale creamy pink or yellow...

Front End Rebuild

Taking lots of photo's of the front end so that I won't forget which piece goes where when I try to put Geet back together again.  

The guys at Home Depot are helping alot as I go in and ask them to specifically customize cuts on new wood, plywood and aluminum trim for me.

I think the guys at Home Depot feel bad for me because I literally bring in the rotted pieces of wood and ask them if I could please have a new one that is exactly the same shape and length...

 Sometimes I say I'll just go home and cut it some with my sawsall or an exacto-knife - that usually brings them aorund to doing the specific cuts I need, LOL  Today the guy at Home Depot said he had worked there for 7 years and never did so much carpentry angles on one piece of wood in all those years - he had another guy holding the wood in place at a 45 degree angle on their cutter as their big cutting machine wasn't even made to cut wood at those angles LOL

 I'm hoping to have the front end all put back by Monday at the latest so I can get started on rebuilding the back end.

 Hmmm - might have to do a little patch work on this side wall as I don't want to have to redo anything once I get the front skin back on Geet.
